St. Charles Family Photographer/St. Louis Family Photographer/Mollie & Henry : Mommy & Me Session

Mollie was one of my best friends in 4th grade, Mrs. Clark's class, we go very far back. Seeing her now, as a mother, to beautiful Mr. Henry whom had my heart from the moment I saw those cheeks, really brought me so much joy. I even got to see her Mom, who used to be my Girl Scout leader!

Henry is a baby that you just want to kiss those cheeks and chubby toes! He is not only head over heels for Mama, but Grammy can make him giggle so good! Henry is 6 months worth of love and laughter.

St. Charles Photographer/St. Louis Photographer/Jessica & "Bean"

I almost couldn't contain my excitement when Jessica messaged me with her Mommy & Me session idea. How can you NOT love Tutu's & Heels & Cowgirl boots??

Jessica is an amazing Mama. She is rocking is single Mama life with a beautiful little girl whom she nicknamed "Bean"! (I love the nickname!)  The joy from the session really filled my heart with so much happiness. I love when clients come up with amazing ideas that bring their personality to the shoot!

St. Charles Newborn Photographer/Newborn Photographer/Jameson Patrick

Erika & Mac finally got to meet handsome Mr. Jameson Patrick after waiting a few days past due. I believe he has been nicknamed "Buck" by family and it is perfection with his adorable nursery. Austen is so proud to be a big sister that she did a sweet dance for me! We also got to hang out in her room and look at all her toys. Where when I asked if I could move it, she said, "You should just stick to your house." HAHAHAHA I love kids.  While shooting Austen cuddling her brand new baby brother with so much love, admiration, innocence and protection my gushy heart melted. It's going to be such a blessing to watch these two grow into best friends over the next year.

Congrats Cormier family. He is perfect & I just adore your amazing family.

St. Charles Family Photographer/Phoenix Family Photographer/Stinson Family shoot at White Tank Mountains Arizona

Megan is a very near and dear friend to me. Recently she relocated to Phoenix for a better job for her husband so I decided I was going to go visit. How could I not visit without capture her and her adorable 4 kids. Gabe, Audra, Maxwell, and Ella. All of them are amazing kids and rather hilarious.

Megan & I became friends when she won a contest I did for my photography business and we were instant friends. We then continued to bond or motherhood, wifehood, and just life. Megan has such a beautiful heart and I really enjoyed spending the weekend with her and her crew.

Can't wait to go back Megan <3

St. Charles Photographer/St. Charles delivery photographer/Welcome to the world baby Waylon

Capturing a birth is one of the most amazing things someone can ask me to be apart. Hanging out with a couple while they wait one of the most sentimental moments of their life is a huge honor.

I knew I was going to love these two when I walked in and they were rocking out to music while they attempted to get more sleep. Erica let me know about 6:30pm that she had already been in labor for about 13 hrs & they were still not quite ready to go to the hospital. Then around 9:30 she let me know they were headed to the hospital since the contractions were 5 minutes apart. Unfortunately the hospital sent her home because she was still only 2cm dilated. So the story goes...she went home, took a shower, some Benadryl...got out of the shower...and water broke! Back to the hospital they went at about midnight!

I got the call to finally join them at 4am, when she hit 8cm and the nurses felt like he was going to be coming pretty quickly at that point. However handsome Mr. Waylon was NOT ready....he spent another 4.5 hours inching his way out. With the final push that brought him into the world, he barely cried, he just snuggled right up to Mom. I am so excited to get to see them all again soon to shoot his newborn pictures so make sure you keep an eye out for that!

St. Charles Photographer/St Charles Wedding Photographer/ Danielle Devin Maternity Film

Since I am new to the film world, I haven't started including them in the original shoots blog. I wait, so that I can really share the film part. These few shots have my heart....The color , the lighting, the grain...all of it. I love them. I am excited to print so of these to have on hand to show clients. St. Charles really does not have a lot of film photographers so I am really excited to start adding this to the Jheart Photography creatives.

Again as I photographer I am blessed to have Devin & Danielle has clients, and I really can not wait to meet their little boy! Curve River State Park in St. Charles/Troy was a perfect spot for sunset. I'm so glad the rain ruined our first location! Sometimes Mother Nature knows what she is doing for us photographers.

St Charles Newborn Photographer/St. Charles Photography/Baby Christopher - 24hrs New

Sweet baby Christopher! It has been a long time since I have had the joy of holding a sweet newborn, probably about a year since my nephew was born, and it was magical. I forget how sweet they smell and how cuddly the are in your arms! Kristen and Josh now have 5 beautiful children and are such a sweet family. Kristen delivered at St. Luke's which is just outside of St. Charles in Chesterfield and she had many good things to say about her delivery experience. Considering she is a pro now I am glad that they took good care of her and baby. Good enough that she got to go home right after this shoot!

St. Charles Photographer/St Charles Lifestyle Photographer/ Mom Life meets Business Life - How do you manage?

I am adding a very intimate and candid moment to my blog today....a side that unless you read my personal facebook, you may not see...that I am a Mom of 4 kids and 3 step-kids which equals 7. Yup, that was not a typo...it's 7. 7 amazing children that I couldn't imagine my world with out them....but let's be honest....this.shit.is.HARD. The hardest thing I have ever done. To juggle school, feeding...my goodness the feeding and the snacks are a daily job on it's own, sports, church, washing clothes, making sure they brush teeth, cleaning rooms, wiping butts, my job..3 businesses, and a new marriage....How in the world is this even possible? It was exhausting just to type...

How do you juggle it? How do I juggle it? Juggle being a Mom AND being a business woman??

Humor & Balance....

St Charles Photographer

Humor is huge...like this picture...Back to school always floods a lot of emotions for me. Sometimes even the smell of the crayons, notebooks, and supplies at Wal-Mart can bring up these emotions. A big one most of us feel is Excited! Excited to have my daily freedom back. Where I can eat a candy bar in silence and not have to share. Where I can go to Wal-Mart without spending $50 more then I planned because somehow there are 7 things we didn't realize we needed until we touched base in the land of all the crap. I also get so sad. Sad that I don't get to see my kids as much. You know, wake up late, enjoy breakfast, plan our day, make them clean for me, playing games, and reading. It's sad to give up that time with them to others. Mad. So mad that I have to spend SO MUCH MONEY ON SUPPLIES. 7 kids starting school doesn't come cheaply but of course I fork it over for the cause. I will be happy my fridge won't empty so quickly because if one more person asks me for a snack I might have to be admitted. Anyone else's kids need a "snack" 4 minutes after ANY given meal?? I am always worried that I won't be good at helping with homework. The way classes are done now days always throw me off. I feel like they have made simple addition SO HARD. Us old people just don't get it. I know I will be glad to have more time for business. Fall season is always crazy and I enjoy giving my clients the attention their pictures are worth. Sometimes I worry I will struggle making my schedule work...cause that is the second BIGGEST part..Schedule...Between traveling, school events, blended kids, sessions, weddings, and practices...some days just don't have enough hours.

Before I even take sessions for a month, I block of dates that I refuse to work so I know to make time for family. Even if that means 10:54pm blogging sessions (like tonight). I make myself STOP at a certain time at night and some days I don't let myself START until a certain time of day. I schedule my blog, my shopping, my gym time, my Jesus time, and my family time. There is of course room for the spontaneous but to make sure my kids feel secure and that they have my attention, I schedule everything and I old school schedule everything with Pen & Paper AND electronicly, ie: my iPhone calendar.

Don't get me wrong...some days end up like this:

Stressed, tired, and sitting in the tub with a bottle of wine! Business woman and Mom's are human too!  I wouldn't trade running my business, where I can make my own schedule to chose what I want to do with my time and when I do it, for anything in the world. I also try very hard to make sure my family doesn't suffer the stress as well.

Plus, I love my job! Which is half the battle most days. Meeting new families and sharing my love for capturing those special moments is everyday different and cherished in my eyes. I love watching families come together and then grow. It's such a blessing to be trusted as that person in someone's life....to document the greatest moments of their life! WOW!

Always remember that with a little humor, a little balance, a lot of Jesus, and a lot of love...you can survive and accomplish anything. Don't give up, especially not on yourself, because most of all those little ones are watching and learning.

St Charles Newborn Photographer/Family Photographer Jheart Photography/Ashlie & Baby Maverick

Ashlie messaged me while she was pregnant with Mr. Maverick to document his birth, well as luck would have it she went into labor while I was on my honeymoon. I was so bummed that I missed it but we found another way for me to finally meet this handsome fella. Ashlie wanted to do an amazing & special gift for Maverick's first father's day & I think she had the perfect idea! I will never say no to capturing a moment for a gift and this was is just too special. We met up at Quail Ridge Park in St. Charles, one of my favorites, to shoot this amazing love between Mama & Baby.

One thing she said was that this is the moment she has waited a long time for, being a mother is the only thing her heart has ever really desired. Taking him home from the hospital was almost unbelievable, and then to wake up to him everyday and just get to be his Mom...

This session really made my heart smile....
